Description
If you teach the Texas Reading Elective in middle or high school, these are your TEKS, newly adopted in 2017! The Texas Reading Elective is a class designed for striving secondary readers, meant to help strengthen skills before students move through high school.
Many uses for these printables:
- These mini-posters make it easy to post your daily objective in an “I can” format. The academic language in the TEKS is preserved to ensure direct alignment. They are great printed on colored paper, laminated, and cut apart.
- These can also be printed at a reduced size for student portfolios, awarded as achievement badges when mastery is shown. They can also be reduced to put in a notebook to match notes for the day.
- If you teach striving readers, you also track student progress. In this set are checklists for each TEKS, including a space to write the proof of mastery assignment, student mastery dates, and notes. Each TEK is included in the checklist and separated by TEKS component (i.e. fluency, comprehension). An overall TEKS page gives you a global view, too.
- If you also teach 6-8 ELA, check out the companion TEKS posters (without checklists), here: 6th grade, 7th grade, 8th grade, or the bundle of all three.
The 29 usable pages (31 in all) help you start the year goal-oriented!
