Description
We keep reading teachers and interventionists in mind as we create our Greek and Latin roots sets! All components support literacy research:
- Common Greek and Latin roots, immediately applied to five vocabulary words
- Space for students to illustrate the root
- Printed words for marked analysis – by syllable and / or by morphological part (with key)
- Cut apart word / definition for repeated matching activities
- Root cards (can be added to HuddleTeach syllable sets), underlined for differentiation from syllables
- Sentence writing pages
- TWO levels of a fiction passage (810-1000L, 1010-1200L) in each resource to allow differentiation, comparison, and comprehension applications
- Reading response pages using sentence stems influenced by The Writing Revolution
- Mini-posters for students to add words using root
- Bulletin board header or label for word sort
Pick and choose the pages your students need to learn Greek and Latin roots as you support their literacy skills!
These sets use these words: democracy, theocracy, autocracy, technocracy, bureaucracy, democrat, theocrat, autocrat, technocrat, bureaucrat, demographic, pandemic, demagogue, demographer, and epidemic for activities, such as syllable splitting, morphological component identification, definition and writing work, and within different genres of text!
