Older striving readers need phonics support well beyond the primary grades. This is especially true for digraphs, trigraphs, and clusters. This domino game makes practicing the three CH digraph sounds fun!

Two sets of 50 dominoes provides three levels of play, so your students can play more than once AND you can differentiate!

Set A: Play by matching the location of the digraph ch in the word (beginning, middle, end)

Set B: Play by matching the sound of the ch in the word (/ch/, /k/, /sh/)

Combine both sets for more difficult play by matching the sounds and / or the position of the digraph!

The words were chosen for readers fifth grade and above, and the font appeals to older students.

A complete set of instructions is included, as is a way to play noncompetitively. Students must read the words as they play, encouraging additional decoding practice. To make it even more challenging, require students to find the definitions of the unknown words!
